Bench Boost GW36 or GW37? FPL Double Gameweek Strategy
Bench boost in GW36 or GW37? Man City and Palace double in GW36. Full strategy for FPL managers who have the chip available.

Bench Boost: GW36 or GW37?
With doubles confirmed for GW36 and the full fixture list coming into focus, is it better to bench boost in GW36 or wait for GW37?
The Case for GW36
GW36 has the confirmed double from Man City and Palace. You load up on those players now, and bench boost in GW36 essentially plays itself. You get two games from your doublers on the bench. Brighton also have Wolves at home in GW36, which is another option for bench boost fodder.
The downside is the bench quality is thin. If you are bench boosting in GW36, you are relying on the doublers to do the work, not a stacked bench of premium players.
The Case for GW37
GW37 is messier. There are no confirmed doubles in GW37, but Palace could still be playing European football depending on how their semi-final goes. If they reach the final, squad rotation becomes a factor. Everton have Sunderland at home, which is a very favourable fixture if you are looking for bench boost cover.
The problem is Palace's European situation. If they reach a European final, they may rotate in GW38 regardless of whether they doubled in GW36 or GW37. That makes GW37 less clean than it looks.
Verdict
GW36 is the cleaner bench boost if you already have the doublers in your team. GW37 is better if you can pivot after the GW36 double and pick up additional doublers for GW37. But that requires transfers and flexibility you might not have.
If you are on wildcard, set up for GW36 bench boost and accept GW37 as a roll week. If you are not on wildcard, GW37 bench boost is worth considering once the Palace European situation clarifies.
