FPL Team News for Gameweek 33 | FPL Companion

GW33 is here and it is a big one. Six teams are doubling: Leeds, Bournemouth, Brighton, Chelsea, Burnley, and Man City. With the title race finely balanced and only a handful of gameweeks left, GW33 could be season-defining. Here is everything you need to know about team news and injuries for the DGW33 sides.

Double Gameweek 33 Teams: Leeds, Bournemouth, Brighton, Chelsea, Burnley, Man City (These same six teams blank in GW34)

Man City

Nico O'Reilly (£5.5m) is the big concern. He limped off with a muscle injury in the GW32 win over Chelsea and is currently 75% likely to play. Pep Guardiola will speak at Friday's press conference — check team news before the deadline. If O'Reilly misses both DGW33 games, he must be sold. You cannot carry a non-playing £5.5m through a double gameweek.

Rayan Cherki (£6.3m) is in excellent form — Form 10.0 — and has been starting most games. Not guaranteed for 90 minutes but should play both fixtures. Strong buy for DGW33 coverage.

Erling Haaland (£14.4m) is fit and available. He blanked in recent gameweeks but a double gameweek multiplies his ceiling. Arsenal at home is a tough fixture but Burnley away is as kind as it gets.

Phil Foden (£8.0m) is fit and available but likely won't start both games. Consider him as a punt City option.

Injured / unavailable: Gvardiol (leg injury, no return date), Rúben (hamstring, no return date). These are not viable FPL assets.

Chelsea

Enzo Fernández (£6.5m) — check team news. No injury news. If confirmed fit, he plays both games (Man Utd H, Brighton A) and is a strong buy.

João Pedro (£7.7m) is fit and Chelsea's most consistent attacker. Plays Man Utd (H) and Brighton (A). Hold or buy — 50.7% ownership means he is not quite a differential but is essential for DGW33 coverage.

Cole Palmer (£10.5m) has penalty and set-piece responsibility. At 19% ownership he is the genuine differential captain pick for Chelsea. Good fixtures in DGW33.

Avoid: Chalobah (ankle, expected back 4 May), James (hamstring, no return date). These players are not available for FPL.

Bournemouth

Evanilson (£6.7m) is Bournemouth's best attacking pick. Penalty taker, strong underlying numbers, two fixtures (Newcastle away, Leeds home). Buy him.

Tavernier (£5.4m) may take penalties and plays good minutes. Hold for DGW33.

Avoid: Kluivert (knee injury, expected back 9 May), Cook (hamstring, no return date). Both ruled out long-term.

Brighton

Danny Welbeck (£6.3m, Form 7.0) is in excellent form. Two fixtures: Spurs away and Chelsea at home. Monitor team news but he should play significant minutes.

Pascal Groß (£5.5m) is the safer Brighton pick. Guaranteed minutes, good output. Buy him.

Van Hecke (£4.6m) is the budget enabler for DGW33. Plays both games. Brighton are shaky away at Spurs but the double gameweek makes him viable at £4.6m.

Avoid: Mitoma — minutes not guaranteed with Gomez and Minteh competing for his spot. Not worth £6.1m in a DGW.

Leeds

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.6m) is Leeds' best attacking option and should start both games (Wolves H, Bournemouth A). Buy.

Brenden Aaronson (£5.4m, Form 4.0) offers good minutes at a low price. Budget enabler.

Avoid: Stach (ankle, expected back 1 May), Rodon (ankle, expected back 1 May). Both ruled out.

Burnley

No Burnley player is recommended as a primary pick. Fixtures (Forest H, Man City A) are not favourable. Any Burnley assets should only be used as absolute last-resort budget fillers.

Amdouni (£4.5m) is only 25% likely to play. Avoid.

Deadline Reminder

GW33 deadline: Saturday 18 April 2026, 11:00 BST. Check team news before finalising your squad.
