GW35 Team News and Injury Roundup

The gameweek before a potential double is always tricky. With the FA Cup semi-finals and European ties throwing fixtures into uncertainty, here is what we know heading into GW35 and what it means for your FPL team.

Arsenal: Multiple Fitness Concerns

The Gunners have a cluster of players nursing injuries ahead of the run-in. Bukayo Saka has been managing a muscular niggle and while he said after the Newcastle game it was a precaution, players say a lot of stuff and when the medics get involved it can be different. Wait for the official update before assuming he is starting.

Eze also picked up a muscular niggle in the same game. He came off after the win over Newcastle and said it was precautionary, which is a positive sign. If he trains fully this week, he is a strong differential option given his price. With Martinelli likely out for a couple of games, the left-wing spot could be Eze's to keep warm.

Kai Havertz is another muscular niggle case. His availability matters less for FPL purposes unless you are on a very specific wildcard path, but it is worth tracking given Arsenal's attacking output.

Gabriel remains Arsenal's most essential defender regardless of these individual injury questions. His fixtures from GW35 onwards are excellent.

Spurs: Xavi Simons Out for the Season

If you were lucky enough to have Xavi Simons in your team, the season is over for him. He will need to be moved on sooner rather than later. For Spurs assets, the picture is murky at best. There is not a clear replacement in that price range who guarantees minutes.

Leeds: Gudmundsson a Doubt

Leeds' Gudmundsson looks to have picked up a hamstring injury in their FA Cup defeat to Chelsea. He will likely miss GW35 at minimum. Wait for the press conference update before making any decisions. If he is out, Leeds defenders lose some of their appeal even against Burnley at home.

FPL Implications

With only four gameweeks left, every starting spot matters. The cluster of Arsenal injuries makes their fixtures slightly less straightforward than they appear on paper. Monitor the updates closely before the GW35 deadline.
